Still installing car seats, 17 years later!
Seventeen years after becoming a Certified Child Passenger Seat Technician (CPST), I’m still installing car seats and ensuring the safety of children on the road. This journey, which began in November 2007 when I became certified and continued as I became a technician instructor in April 2009, has been both rewarding and essential. Every installation matters because it could make a life-saving difference in a crash. It’s a privilege to empower parents and caregivers with the knowledge they need to protect their children, and I’ve had the opportunity to do this over countless events and consultations.
Recently, I was part of an event featured on Local Channel 10’s "Mom to Mom: Tips for car seat safety and where to get your child's car seat checked in South Florida" as part of the Safe Kids Worldwide National Seat Check Saturday Car Seat Check-Up Event on September 28, 2024. This event serves as a reminder of how vital it is to keep safety at the forefront of parenting, especially when it comes to car seats. Sharing my expertise on air was an incredible opportunity to reach even more families, ensuring that everyone knows where to turn for help and resources, including car seat checks right here in South Florida.
